The Cancer Dormancy & Immunity Lab is very happy to welcome Miguel Fuzeta to the team!
Miguel is a Bioengineer from Lisbon, and joins us after a successful multidisciplinary PhD in the labs of Cláudia Lobato da Silva and Nuno Bernardes, at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, in collaboration with Diana Gaspar at iMM Lisbon and Joost Sluijter and Pieter Vader at UMC Utrecht, Netherlands. During his PhD thesis, Miguel implemented a novel bioreactor to scale up the production of extracellular vesicles engineered for cancer-targeted drug delivery. Now Miguel renews his passion for cancer biology and immuno-oncology sparked during his Master's in Rita Fior's group at the Champalimaud Foundation, yet leveraging his engineering mindset to solve the challenge of breast cancer metastasis. He joins the lab as a Postdoc to spearhead a project on tissue-specific immune barriers to metastasis.
Welcome Miguel, and enjoy your time!
